One of the picnic food that you have to defend from the Picnic Raiders!

Here is a recipe from Ace Fitness. Yummy and healthy Grilled Chicken Tenders with Cilantro Pesto.
Grilled Chicken Tenders with Cilantro Pesto

Prep Time

Total Time

Nutrition Profile: Diabetes Appropriate   Gluten Free Diet   Healthy Weight   Heart Healthy  Low Calorie   Low Carb   Low Sat Fat   Low Sodium

1/4 cup lime juice
1/4 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon canola oil
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 pound chicken tenders
2 cups loosely packed fresh cilantro leaves, (1-2 bunches)
scallions, sliced
2 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds, (see Ingredient Note)

Step 1
Whisk lime juice, soy sauce, oil and chili powder in a large bowl. Reserve 2 tablespoons of the marinade in a small bowl. Add chicken to the remaining marinade; toss to coat. Marinate in the refrigerator for 20 minutes or up to 1 hour.
Step 2
Preheat grill to medium-high.
Step 3
Meanwhile, place cilantro, scallions, sesame seeds and the reserved marinade in a food processor and process until fairly smooth.
Step 4
Oil the grill rack (see Tip). Remove the chicken from the marinade (discard marinade) and grill until cooked through and no longer pink in the middle, about 2 minutes per side. Serve the chicken with the cilantro-sesame pesto.

Ingredient Note: Sesame seeds can be purchased already toasted. Look for them near other Asian ingredients. Or toast your own in a small dry skillet over low heat, stirring constantly, until golden and fragrant, about 2 minutes.

Tip: To oil the grill rack, oil a folded paper towel, hold it with tongs and rub it over the rack. (Do not use cooking spray on a hot grill.) When grilling delicate foods like tofu and fish, it is helpful to spray the food with cooking spray.

High Score Tips & Tricks

Congratulations Arjo for topping today's high score!
44,935 is woooooow!!! You sure know how to squish those bugs! :D

Before Arjo was king, one of Picnic Raiders' players, Ruth held the top spot in the high score wall for weeks. We asked her for tips on how to get to the 44 thousand and above level, and here are some tips that we got from her:

Tip #1 - Choose a Playing Style You're Most Comfortable With
Other people play the game using two thumbs, others with the pointer fingers, some holding the phone, some laying the phone flat on a surface, some use one hand, others two. Different playing styles. Ruth plays with her pointer fingers flat on a table. Why? Because Ruth has short fingers and playing using her thumbs would be counter productive. So look for a playing style the would work best for you. If playing with one eye closed is the best for you, go do it! Or if using your tongue makes you score higher, use your tongue - just don't hurt yourself :)

Tip #2 - Scan the Environment
Do not stare at bugs as they are squished! Yes, the animation of the bugs being squished are too cute (specially when matched with the sound effects) and not cruel in any way. But watching this would ruin your game, specially on higher levels where bugs come in much faster. Watch the animation on a game where you are not out to beat the high score. But when you are out to beat Arjo, concentrate on the incoming bugs to squish.

Tip #3 - Move the Food
There are levels where bugs come out only from the top, or the bottom, or the sides. Be mindful of these details, and move your food on the side where the bugs are not coming out from. This would make the food safer from the attacking bugs since it is farther away from them.

How about you? What do you do to get the Picnic Raiders High Score?

Picnic Raiders Now on iTunes App Store!

For those who have been long awaiting the release of Picnic Raiders, the wait is over.  Picnic Raiders is now available in the iTunes app store.  You can purchase the full game here or you can try the free, lite version here, which has limited features.  I highly recommend the full version of the game.  It will be worth the price (which is basically the price of most songs that people buy on iTunes) for the amount of time that you will be hooked to the game.

Picnic Raiders is the newest mobile application game by Gamebowl playable on the iPhone and iPad. With 26 levels as well as a mini-game called Whack-a-bug, Picnic Raiders is expected to garner attention from the likes of non-gamers as well as from those who just want to kill time tapping on their iPhone screens. There are a lot of other bug squishing games out there so why Picnic Raiders? Well, the name says it all. The game has an interesting storyline to it. You're at a picnic and it seems that you are running late. Out of nowhere, your picnic starts attracting nearby bugs. So throughout the game, your challenge is to squish and prevent your picnic from getting eaten. You have the common bugs which are the ants, the beetles which take more taps to the screen to squish, the caterpillar which is invincible so you have to actually move it to the edge of your screen so it doesn't get near your food, flying bugs which zig zag to your picnic food, and other different bugs. Sometimes the bugs bite back you have to be careful which bugs to squish first.

Once you start beating the levels, the game will give you a new goal: to attain a #1 rank in the high scores. Yes, the game includes a high score table. You can compete with friends to see who can kill the most bugs in the time allotted and who has the best bug-squishing combinations. Overall, Picnic Raiders will keep you glued to your screen and keep your fingers moving very fast. The more you practice, the better you will be in beating the game. Whack-a-bug, the mini-game within Picnic Raiders, has the same concept except that you are given a pie with 9 divided areas. Bugs will pop in random areas on the pie. Your challenge will be to squish the bugs as they pop up in different quantities and at different speeds. Some bugs won't be squishable so you will definitely need a strategy to pull through. If you want a new bug-squishing challenge, test your skills at!

High Anticipation for the iPad 3?

We all love the latest and most recent high tech gadgets don't we? Specially if it makes playing games much more fun and easier to play.

Ipad fanatics will have high anticipation about the new iPad 3's release this spring. Having such a thin complexion, the iPad 3 is expecting to bring out new features upon its release. Such features will be a new resolution size of 2048 x 1536 stretching the resolution in both directions but having almost the exact same pixel size as the iPhone 4 as well as screen size of 9.7 inches like the iPad 2. Other improved features include a new quad-core A6 processor to result in even faster graphics processing despite the higher pixel count, better cameras (front and back), better battery life, and the addition of Siri (the voice-activated assistant featured on the iPhone 4S). These features, likely to be introduced at the same $499 price for the basic iPad 2, could have a big impact on the gaming market.

The release of the new iPad 3 this spring will not only increase production and sales of iPads but it will also give people a new way to play and enjoy games. Over 4 million iPads are sold every month and analysts expect that rate to continue climbing by the end of 2012 and will probably surpass sales for the Wii, xbox 360, and PS3. Challenges still stand in the way for the iPad. For example, some games such as Call of Duty are very large in filesize and will take longer to transition. If Apple plans to compete with Xbox and PlayStation, they are going to need to create a controller for the iPad that hardcore gamers can adjust to. If Apple is going to make the iPad compatible with other consoles, the iPad is expected to make an incredible impact on the gaming market. The bigger screen resolution for the iPad 3 won't be the feature that entices hardcore gamers, however if Apple decides to keep the iPad 2 in their lineup with a cheaper price, sales will continue to increase.
